ABOUT US

At Little Green Growers, our mission is to make it easy to grow sustainable food and flowers from home.

Our certified organic plants are lovingly tended form seed on our family-run eco farm  in Connaught for delivery to your door. Organic growing helps to protect the environment, improves soil quality and encourages biodiversity.

We source amazing Irish organic gardening supplies from Donegal, Roscommon, Wicklow, Meath and Cork.

We use 100% compostable or recyclable and recycled packaging. Growing advice is available every step of the way to harvest day through our website, Facebook and Instagram communities with the help of our Garden Guru!

We are proud partners of the All Ireland Pollinator Plan and the National Biodiversity Centre. We also were recently elected Board Members of the Organic Trust. Joining these associations allows us to strongly use our voice, our business and our community to act on the climate and biodiversity crisis for a more sustainable future.

Our Story

Little Green Growers is a family-run Irish business that was established in 2018 by Denise and Stephane.

Denise has a background in finance, while Stephane is an environmental specialist and professional chef. Denise left her banking career to provide aid and volunteer in Haiti following the devasting earthquake in 2010. There, she met her now-husband Stephane, and they moved to Galway in 2016 to follow their dream of becoming organic farmers on the Wild Atlantic Way.

Little Green Growers started small, selling organic produce to award-winning restaurants and businesses. As Covid struck and businesses suddenly closed, Little Green Growers faced great uncertainty and was forced to reconsider the next steps for the company. We were awarded full organic certification in April 2020, and this along with realising we could help others on their growing journey, inspired us to continue.

Gardeners across Ireland asked us if we could make our organic seedlings available to them during the pandemic, so we transformed the business to sell plants throughout Ireland. The business bloomed, and we extended our range to seeds, compost and other organic garden supplies.

Little Green Growers has now encouraged thousands of people to embrace wellness, to live more sustainable, happier lives, and to help nature, by growing their own organic food and bee-friendly flowers. We love to hear how growing together connects family and friends near and far.

Our story and pivot to success have received outstanding recognition. Little Green Growers has made two guest appearances on RTE’s flagship Late Late Show, featured in the Irish Times, Irish Independent, Woman’s Way and more.

Our Products

We genuinely care about our customers, and every order is grown and prepared with hand crafted care and love. Some of our successful product ideas, spurred by the challenges of lockdown to improve well being and happiness, include: The Gift of Spring, Hope Blossoms and Brighter Days Ahead. These organic plant packs make the perfect Christmas gift, including a lovely note for Christmas Day and the excitement of plant deliveries in Spring.

Our most successful gift idea, ‘Granny and Me’, focused on bringing families together through the isolation of lockdown to protect the elderly. The concept is that seeds are sown and grown by separated grandchildren and grandparents to maintain a connection during a lonely and challenging period for many.

All of our products are natural, bee-friendly and organic -we also offer free expert growing advice through our Gardening Guru service. To ensure the quality of your plants, we use special ‘greenhouse packaging’ which features air holes and maximises sunlight in unique packaging for optimal shipping protection. Our packaging and pots are zero waste, made from recycled and recyclable materials.

Organic Certification

As certified organic producers, our priority is to grow in harmony with nature. Organic farming practices reduce pollution, conserve water, reduce soil erosion, increase soil fertility, and use less energy. Farming without pesticides is also better for nearby birds and animals as well as people who live close to farms.
