Sowing Time in Ireland
Sow outdoors from March to September for continuous harvests.
Germination
4 to 10 days in soil temperatures between 8 and 20 degrees.
Spacing
Sow thinly in shallow drills. Thin seedlings to 2 to 3 centimetres apart if growing for larger leaves.
Position
Full sun or light shade in well drained, fertile soil. Also suitable for containers and window boxes.
Harvest
Harvest outer leaves from 3 to 6 weeks after sowing. Cut regularly to encourage fresh growth.
