Growing Information for Ireland
Sowing Time in Ireland
Sow outdoors from April to July. For earlier crops, sow in modules under cover from March.
Germination
7 to 14 days in soil temperatures between 8 and 20 degrees.
Transplanting
Transplant when seedlings have 4 to 6 true leaves and are sturdy enough to handle.
Spacing
Allow 45 centimetres between plants for full leaf development.
Position
Full sun or partial shade in fertile, well drained soil enriched with organic matter.
Harvest
Harvest outer leaves from June onwards. Plants will continue producing through autumn and often into winter.
