Sowing Time in Ireland

Sow outdoors from May to July once all risk of frost has passed and soil has warmed.

Germination

7 to 14 days in soil temperatures between 12 and 20 degrees.

Spacing

Sow seeds 5 centimetres deep and 15 centimetres apart in rows spaced 45 centimetres apart.

Position

Full sun in well drained, fertile soil enriched with organic matter.

Harvest

Harvest from July to September. Pick regularly while pods are young and tender to encourage continued production.
